Hello Grasshoppa,
MCO 2.0 has started as I am writing this post. Since March 2020, many Malaysians have suffered from this pandemic due to economic instability. As a result, many have lost their jobs, some businesses are shut down and the worse of all a lot have been infected by the deadly virus. While we have hope that the newly discovered vaccine will solve this pandemic, the vaccine may not arrive anytime soon until the end of February onwards. Our 2021 may look exactly like 2020 but this time around, we have hope.
Most of us are probably used to the new normal although wearing mask can be annoying & our old lifestyle is just part of our old memories that we missed. Many jobs & industrial sector are still affected by this pandemic & we won’t know how long until we have our pre-pandemic lives back. Despite the many setbacks due to the pandemic, I noticed that there are also new opportunities that have arisen. As we can see, the food delivery segment is in demand with many of us opting to stay at home. There are also many entrepreneurs with various initiatives to sell things online & even starting their own food business. Kudos to all those entrepreneurs that are working hard to make ends meet & most importantly how can we support them during times like this?
1. Buy From Friends & Family
Buying from friends & family does not mean we are buying stuff that we don’t need or buying food that we hate. It is about supporting them if they have the product or food we like or use. In my personal experience, I may be able to support my friend food once or twice but I don’t think that I can personally support it repeatedly as I may get bored with it. It also applies to some items that I may buy from my friend. Those items can be used for long term & there is no need to buy it twice. What is the 2nd initiative we can do then?
2. Sharing & Liking It
This is a free initiative that we can do for our community. Sharing a post via Facebook or Instagram is free & by doing so, we can actually help our friend to create awareness for their brands or businesses. Some of our friends may create a Facebook Page for their business & we used to be selective in liking their page. It is also a free initiative where we can do to support our community together. Black Belt Tape started in March 2020 during the first MCO & up until today, I noticed that many of my friends & family have shared many of Black Belt Tape post via IG or Facebook. I am really grateful that I have a group of friends & family that are able to support me to spread the awareness of my businesses to the world.
3. Talk To Them
Not only you can buy & spread awareness of their businesses, but you can also talk to them. Give them words of encouragement to get them motivated during this situation. If you are an expert in these related fields that they are embarking on, your guidance may be helpful. DO NOT provide any advice if you are not the expert.
Conclusion :
The fight against Covid-19 isn’t over but hopefully, we will see the end once the vaccine is out & rolling. While we are fighting, do provide our best support as much as we can towards our community. It is as simple as sharing & liking. The virus is everywhere & it can infect anyone anytime. Do wear your mask & sanitise your hands all the time. If you are back from outside, the first thing to do before sitting on your sofa or touching your loved ones is to shower & clean yourself. We can definitely work together to flatten the curve & support the community.
