It is really sad to see the impacts of Covid-19 & the number of cases raised in our country. While we are all stressing with this issue worrying if we are infected or if we are infecting anyone, life still has to go on. Life is so fragile that I realized that it could end in a blink of an eye. This period for me is stressful as it is affecting my competition, business, work & many others. Honestly there are so many plans that I have for this year & I had to put some on hold because of this.

What Are The Impacts Of Covid-19 To Me?

Competition :
As an active competitor in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, my competition in Vietnam has been postponed to a later date. No confirmation on when will be the next date. Flight ticket & accommodation have been paid but not sure if it’s still safe to go there for holiday since the competition has been cancelled. My Japan trip is also uncertain due to Covid-19 situation.

Work :
My company is definitely benefiting from this situation as there is an increase in demand due to limited supplies. With limited supplies, many of my customers are pushing to ensure their demand is met which can be quite challenging for period like this. Many of my customers are not allowing me to have any business visit during this period as well. With the recent Movement Control Order (MCO) by the government, many manufacturing companies are shutting down during this period.

Business :
My gym business will definitely be impacted by situation like this. Some members are afraid to come during this period which is understandable. To ensure the gym is clean & safe from any form of viruses, we make it a must for member to sanitize their hands  upon entering the gym & feet sanitization upon entering the mats. All our bags & mats have to be cleaned in between classes & we will be doing major cleaning each Saturday to ensure our gym is virus free. Prior to the RMO , we have decided to close our gym for a week but after the announcement, we are closing it from 17 March-28 April. My other business which was supposed to be kicked off in early March is delayed due to production issue in China & Covid-19. Currently it is back in production but I expect it to be slower due to decrease in demand in such ordeal.

Financial & Investments :
Cash is important in situation like this. With my stocks investment going down by 30%, I am exploring for  opportunity to invest more since the price is cheap but I may need to watch out for my cash flow during situation like this. The only investment that is currently making money right now is my gold investment. I may need more cash in hand just in case of an emergency.

Conclusion :

Times like this are definitely tough. Most important of all is, we do our part to ensure we don’t spread the virus. If you feel unwell & have signs of Covid-19, seek medical help immediately. Wash your hand regularly & avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth with unwashed hands. The announcement of our PM during the MCO period is, we have to cancel any form of events or any mass gatherings. I am confident that we can go through this situation together. Remember Grasshoppa, stay calm & do not panic. We can do it.
