Should I Delete My Post For Money?

Hello Grasshoppa,

Recently I was reached out by an investment company in regards to my previous post published years ago where their name was brought up in the comment section. In the comment section of that particular post, a few of my readers have brought up the name of the company alleging that this business was a scam.

I was asked to remove the entire post by their company representative on the basis of false accusation & they have also attached proof of their legitimacy.

Aside from their request to remove the comment, they are also offering money to me to remove the post. Personally, I was quite offended when I was offered money to remove the comment section. If they are a genuine investment company, such comments from a small blog like mine will not affect the reputation of their company.

BBM is a blog where I mainly share my views on investment & personal finance for free. Being approached by many different investment platforms before, I have turned down multiple offers especially companies that are not approved by the Securities Commissions of Malaysia. It is part of my filtration & view on these companies & it is mainly based on whether they are approved by the Securities Commissions of Malaysia. Even if they are legitimate companies that are legally approved by other countries, as long as they are not approved by SC of Malaysia, most probably I won’t feature or collaborate with them.

As for this email by them, I personally do not want to “expose” their name to cause any type of damage or bad reputation for them but I have to humbly reject them openly on their financial compensation offer. At the same time, I will not be removing any of the comments as they will be used by other BBM readers as their reference. Whether the company is genuine or not, it is up to BBM readers to decide & do their own research. I for one will not invest with them.
